The star-studded International Singer Songwriter Association Awards show was held on August 24th in the prestigious Byers Theatre at the Sandy Springs Event Centre in Atlanta, Georgia.
The day began early for the band with a soundcheck at 8am. It was the only opportunity for the band to rehearse a meticulously guarded secret performance of the song “Stay In Your Own Lane” that frontman Tim Steinruck had been writing and producing for months with ISSA CEO Tamanie Dove.
The red carpet gala event started at 12pm featuring a rich gauntlet of television/radio interviews, live press and photo opportunities.
At 2pm the awards show began featuring a plethora of winners punctuated by stunning live performances of the previous year’s winners.
At 4:45 pm The Mighty One took the stage to celebrate their 2023 wins at which Tim Steinruck was the winner of “International Songwriter Of The Year.” The band’s album “Torch Of Rock And Roll” was recognized as the “Gold Album Of The Year”, and the band as “Band Of The Year Silver.” With that they became the awards show only ever three time winner.
After a series of announcements that included news of the band reaching a milestone of 250,000 streams of their recent release, the band built into that song, “Kickin’ Stones” with the theatre magically lit by swaying cellphone lights to the piano introduction and raucous applause at the song’s end.
Then the band transitioned into a swelling and ominous keyboard intro, and finally exploded into “Stay In Your Own Lane.”
Tamanie Dove joined the band on stage for the second verse of the song to the excited cheers of the audience. Her energetic performance included earth-shattering high notes that no one was expecting!
At the end of the performance Tim requested a photo with the band, Tamanie, and the entire audience now on their feet, and their hands in the air!
Songwriters from over 40 countries attended and enjoyed the very successful 2024 International Singer Songwriter Association Awards.
